Classroom and Practical Training for Beginner to Advanced Driving Techniques

Constellis Driving training courses are designed to provide classroom and practical training on observational skills and driving techniques used by military, law enforcement and protective security professionals. These immersive courses deep dive into driving techniques and car control at various speeds and conditions. Students will learn to use observation, planning, and vehicle-handling skills to respond effectively to any hazardous situation that might arise during highway driving.

Driving training days have minimum classroom instruction with the primary focus being in-vehicle practical application using provided training vehicles.

Advanced Highway Safety (AHS)

Our Advanced Highway Safety course is designed to improve car control skills focusing on developing an understanding of what car control is all about. We start with determining current skills and understanding on an individual basis then focus on evolving skill development through drills. Students will learn preparation skills and how to take proper corrective action during a highway emergency at highway speeds.

High Center Gravity 

The High Center Gravity course is designed to help students develop an understanding of the differences in control between a sedan platform vehicle and a high center of gravity platform vehicle. We start with determining current skills and understanding on an individual basis then focus on evolving skill development through drills. Students will learn preparation skills and how to take proper corrective action during a highway emergency at highway speeds.

Motorcade Operations (Domestic)

Motorcade Operations develops communication skills, formation and application, escape and evasive maneuvers. Students work through a series of drills with live traffic that develop the survival skills necessary to successfully protect a customer.

Manual Transmission

Our Manual Transmission course will direct students to properly operate a vehicle platform equipped with a manual transmission, emphasizing car control through skill development drills. Students will learn proper corrective action during a highway emergency at highways speeds.

Vehicle Commandeering

Vehicle Commandeering is a practical training course for military and law enforcement personnel on how to quickly acquire a vehicle and use it to exit a hostile environment. The hands-on training encompasses several types of vehicles, using and modifying various tools, defeating security systems and devices, starting the vehicle, and exiting the hostile environment.

Law Enforcement Driving Course (LEDC): Advanced Car Control and Counter Ambush 

Our Law Enforcement Advanced Car Control and Counter Ambush Driving course provides officers with a thorough understanding of vehicle dynamics in multiple vehicle platforms, on various traction environments, and at both highway and pursuit speeds. Law Enforcement students learn tactical maneuvers used during vehicle pursuits and how to counter ambush attacks. This course concludes with multiple high intensity scenarios that often require full metal-to-metal contact.

Counterterrorism 

The Counterterrorism course is designed to provide students with the knowledge necessary to evade an attack situation utilizing both offensive and defensive driving skills. A series of drills starts with improving car control skills and moves to evasive actions, barricade breaching, backing, Y turn, J turn, PIT, driver down and countering the drive-by threat. This course includes different vehicle configurations, single car, and motorcade or convoy movements dependent upon customer needs. Other topics include check point operation and route selection and analysis. This course culminates with real-world scenario drills.

Off-Road and Unimproved Road 

The Off-Road and Unimproved Road course is designed improved driving skills necessary to operate a vehicle on various types of off-road conditions and circumstances. Curriculum includes four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle mechanics as well as the differences between different types of drive train configurations. This hands-on course covers all types of recovery methods and tools necessary to get a vehicle unstuck and moving again. Terrain includes dirt, mud, sand, rocks and hills, log and water crossing.

Field Expedient Repairs 

This hands-on Field Expedient Repairs course teaches common vehicle break-down situations and how to make a quick fix with limited resources to get you up and moving again.

Checkpoint and Motor Cade Operations (Enhanced) 

The Checkpoint and Motor Cade Operations provides an in depth understanding and practical application in order to provide a safe environment while transporting the Principal to his or her destination. A combination of lecture and practical exercise is designed to provide proficiency in movements, responsibilities and emergency maneuvers. Course includes mock attack scenarios.

Driving during darkness with Night Vision Devices 

Driving during darkness with NVG covers the nomenclature and operations of NVG devices. Practical exercises are conducted in various vehicle configurations dependent on client needs. The exercises can be for familiarization or can be designed for development of in depth operation and precision skills. Courses can include, low light, white light and NVG driving instruction with application.
